Over the centuries commercial and cultural relationships have been consolidated worldwide making the city of Carrara a place of international passage.<\/p>\n<p>The city has been and continues to be a land of landings and departures, visited by famous travellers who were enchanted by the wonderful beauty of a territory that guards a unique heritage made up of art, entrepreneurship and skills of craftsmen and marble workers.<\/p>\n<p>A material that has always been cosmopolitan, a world heritage, which blends into the identity of the city.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;194949&#8243; img_size=&#8221;medium&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It is therefore not surprising that in the nineteenth-century Grand tours the city and its marble were points of interest and in many cases also a stop-over. Travels, correspondence, letters, anecdotes. There are many reasons why marble and Carrara appear in correspondence, works and essays. Few tourists stay there\u037e and the people are nearly all connected, in one way or other, with the working of marble. There are also villages among the caves, where the workmen live.
