L.O.V.E. by Cattelan: Carrara marble as a Contemporary Gesture
In Piazza Affari, Maurizio Cattelan’s L.O.V.E. transforms Carrara marble into a contemporary, provocative, and monumental gesture. Known as “The Finger,” the work uses a material historically associated with memory and power to construct an urban anti-monument: an ambiguous, critical presence capable of questioning public space and the role of marble in contemporary art.
